Salt Cell Control via Vera

I have an older Goldline/Hayward Aquarite Salt Cell controller. The Aquarite has a 4-wire interface (RS-485 I presume) to be remote controlled by several commercial pool controllers (Pentair, AquaLogic, etc.). However, my pool automation gear (Intermatic PE653RC) does not have salt gen control capability…

I’m curious if anyone has attempted remotely controlling an Aquarite DIY-style that would share their setup & tips or any information. Ultimately (of course) I’d like to be able to create a MIOS plug-in to read status via Luup.

Thanks,
Tony

Do you want to just control the power to the salt cell or do you want to talk over RS-485 to control the salt cell output? If you want to just control power that should be fairly easy.

Thanks for the reply I was just looking to control the cell over RS485. Any pinout suggestions?

I know this is an old thread, but there has been some new work in this area. See GitHub https://github.com/tagyoureit/nodejs-Pentair and Gitter https://gitter.im/pentair_pool/Chlorinator.
