Hey all, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the russound plugin and also the sonos plugin for Vera. I am thinking of running a whole house audio system with a vera lite, a russound caa66k and a sonos connect. I am sold on the vera lite for all my other automation needs. I like the russound and i like the sonos but i would like to be able to control them easily with the same app that controls the rest of the automation. So i am hoping that with the plugins i dont lose any functionality of the devices. I would like to know if the russound keypads integrate nicely with these products also. Any suggestions other than using the russound or sonos are welcome!

Thanks guys…Piwtorak, i see you use the vera, airport extreme and apple t.v, can you elaborate on how you have them set up. Do you use a smartphone to control and use the airport and apple t.v. as endpoints. Do you have hard drives physically connected to the end points so that you have the option of playing off your connected hard drive or streaming from your phone or a guests phone etc, and does this all work seamlessly with the vera?(APP?) Airport extreme has a built in hard drive, so if you store your media on this, is it easy to navigate and control with your vera and phone? I am very new at this, sorry, haha
Yes, I use apple tv to receive music and videos from my apple devices including ipod, iphone and ipad.
I have one iomega 3tb network drive and access your data using Remote Files app.
No, air port extreme do not have a hard drive, time capsule has. I do not have time capsule yet.
One apple tv in each television for use with netflix and receive contents from apple devices.
One sonos 3 in each room and 1 sound bar in my bedroom give to me a complete sound system for whole home, vera speaks thru the sonos using sonos plugin and some lua code to notify my housekeeper if some window is open or if i am near from home to put the food on the table for me.
All my routers and access points are apple , no another brand gave me the performance apple products give me.

Sonos Connect and Russound - GOOD COMBO. I only have 1 play 3, but I have Ceiling/Wall speakers in each room powered by Russound MCA-C5. I have to admit the Play 3 speaker from SONOS is unreal. Everything works well.
Hey good to hear, thanks! Can you elaborate more on your set up, besides streaming, where is your music stored and how do you access it? Do you use the same app to control the sonos and the russound, and how well do the keypads integrate with this?
I’d like to know also. My desktop has been down for a week now and the lack of music is getting to me more than I thought it would. WHA has spoiled me I guess! It would be nice to have a device I could control with a tablet that srtreams music from my file server or Pandora, or something.
For some reason I hate storing music locally unless it’s a DJ mix or set that you cannot stream through the available service providers. I think it dates back to seeing friends with the multiple cabinet VHS tapes and indexing cards, or the CD Storage bins of ever dating formats and sound quality… I’ve since been opposed to collecting music or videos knowing that I’ll rarely watch it again, and the next time I want to watch it, there is probably a better version or quality or format, lol. 
Now that i’m off my soapbox;
I have a sonos Connect, going into an input on my Russound MCA-C5. I set the line output to variable so I can have some play on volume with the Sonos app, and with the Russound app on my wall mounted ipad (via iport).
I mainly use Pandora for all my streaming needs, and the iheartradio app for local radio (Beats the FM tuner for clarity IMO). Local NAS for the bittersweet collection of DJ mixes not available via streaming online.
The Play 3 is more of a bonus, I dont have 1 location for it yet… in fact I may sell it. but it comes in handy occasionally.
I’m running MCA-C5 and Sonos ZP, I use slacker since Pandora isn’t available in Canada. I would like to have a scene button at the back door to set the outdoor lights, turn on the Russound zone, set the input and then start a slacker station on the Sonos. Is that possible with the plugins?
