Has anyone seen a way to get the recording off of this device to by pass the need for their cloud service?

Until they open their API, I don’t believe it is possible 
Yea. I thought so. I just need a camera that has a thin profile to put in my front window. I can recreate the ring bell motion alerts through Vera I think.
