RFX setup problem

Hi. I’m new to Vera and finding it a challenge but rewarding. Overall I’m doing ok with locks, thermostats, and sensors. I’m still waiting to hear from MCV regarding the firmware beta to operate my Aeotec mulit-sensor, but I’m holding my breath.

My problem is with the RFXCOM RFXrec433. I plugged in the unit as described and I think I uploaded the files ok. It said they uploaded anyway. I created the UnP device as per the instructions on here, but nothing happened. I’m trying to get an Oregon Scientific THWR800 temp sensor working and as I read it, it should auto configure and appear. Nothing on my UI5 screen except for the device I created. For some reason it did appear as on my Automater app in my iPad but no readings of any sort.

I’m sure I missed a step but I’d sure like to get the 433 devices working so I can add a couple more. Thanks for any direction and detail is appreciated as I’m still learning.

Thanks

M

If you installed the one from the app store, it is the incorrect app.

The new released version for the RFXtrx see:

Thanks!

So do I have to unnstall the old one first? If so, how?

I really appreciate the help.

M

You should uninstall the device by clicking on the rubbish bin located in the top right corner. You do not need to worry about the files.

I installed the new files with no change. I still only show the devices created and nothing else or any info.
Is there a difference in the procedure for the RFXCOM RFXrec433 than for the RFCtrx433???

Or am I still missing something silly on my end?

So after I created the device it should simply appear and start. Adding the sensors automatically?

We’ll get it yet. Thanks!

I adjusted the serial port as descibed but still objects showing other than the device I created. Does it have to be set to use the “serial port list” as a parent o next or something?

I not surewhatim missing yet.

Thanks!

Not sure about difference between rec, trx other than not being a transmitter. Try clicking the reload located in the top right to restart Vera.

Yeah I’ve tried that several times. I’ll look at it more tonight.

Thanks

Thanks Brientim for your help. I got it up and running.RTFM right? ;D For some reason I only uploaded the .xml files before. Did them all and it worked just like it’s supposed to.

Any suggestions on how to get the temp sensors to read F instead of C?

Thanks again!

Never mind, I got it. Great to have it working!

Your welcome,

I am glad to hear you got it up and working.
