Hey everyone,
I’ve been messing with my (new to me) Vera2 for the better part of the evening and can’t seem to figure this out.
Previously I had a Lowe’s IRIS system paired/included with a GE/Jasco ZWave light switch, all working properly until the IRIS hub failed on me. I reset the hub and removed the light switch association and returned the defective hub.
I also have an outdoor GE/Jasco ZWave outlet that I never used with IRIS, brand new.
My Vera2 had no problem with the outdoor outlet, it included/paired right up. No matter what combination of low power, high power inclusion I tried, I could not get the light switch to include (it works fine as a manual switch). I tried ‘excluding all’ from the advanced menu and successfully removed the outdoor outlet, and re-included it, but still could not get the light switch to include.
All three devices, the Vera2, outdoor module, and switch are within a few feet of each other.
Any other ideas short of swapping the light switch for a new, never-included one?
Just to confirm, you attempted to exclude both the light switch and the outdoor module, but it didn’t work for the light switch?
So when you put Vera in exclude mode, then hit the light switch, what do you see in the status window (top center) on the GUI? It should say something like ‘[tt]Removed unknown node[/tt]’?
Can anyone confirm that the GE/Jasco ZW4001 is fully ZWave/Vera compatible?
I just purchased a brand new switch that’s never been paired and I still can’t seem to get the Vera2 to see it (the switch does have the ZWave logo on it).
I bought the Vera2 refurbished directly from micasaverde, is it possible it’s defective?
I can confirm that the Lowes iris GE/Jasco ZW4001 aka 45609 switch does work with the vera. I’ve found them to be finnicky, if it doesn’t work exchange it for a new one at lowes.
What do you see when you try to include/exclude the switch?
I swapped it out for a second unit, and initially, neither unit seemed to communicate with the Vera.
However, I was able to get one of the units working after I set the Vera to include on high power and held the unit right next to the switch (literally, touching the switch). That was the only way I could get it to include.
The odd part was, when I included the switch, the Vera got confused and swapped the names on the switch and indoor lamp module (when I toggle the switch in Vera, the indoor lamp module toggles, and when I toggle the lamp module in Vera, the indoor lamp module toggles). I guess you can’t win them all
After I excluded everything, at the time when I added the GE switch, only the indoor module was included.
I re-included the outdoor module and all three are working together nicely now. Minor inconsistencies but it worries me about the long term reliability of the Vera. Crossing my fingers though, I really hated throwing away $10 on IRIS…
