Is there a way to automatically reset a Jasco Dimmer switch to 100% brightness without necessarily turning on the light?
Here is the situation:
I have a Jasco Dimmer switch on my family room. I have a scene to set the dimmer level for optimal TV viewing.
If I run the scene in the evening, and then turn off the light. The next day when I turn on the light it is only half brightness.
I would like some form of scene that runs at night and resets all my dimmers back to 100% brightness without turning on the light. Can this be done?
So no, there is no way to set the brightness level independent of turning on the light. To set the brightness back to 100%, you will need to briefly turn the light on to 100% then turn it off to get the light to remember that as the last setting, there is no override for the Jasco switches, and I am not aware of any z-wave switches that support that.
How about making a scene that sets the switch to 100% if it’s daytime when it’s turned on?
I would use lua code and the switch “on” as the trigger. The Day/Night plugin could be used for the condition.
Another option would be PLEGE.
thanks for the suggestion but unfortunately Jasco switches don’t support instant status so it would take a few seconds for the scene to run whenever i turned on the light
thats what i figured. I currently have a scene that runs sometime in the day that turns on the lights at 100% and turns them off 1 second later…i guess thats as good as it gets :-\
With Leviton dimmers, you can set the default turn on-level. Basically every time you turn them on with the physical switch, they turn on to the default level. Very useful.
