I was wondering about how to thwart a thief who steals a Vera from using it, could they potentially get on your system if they took it to another location? Is there any usefulness in this regard to requiring a password for local login?
If a stolen Vera were connected at a new location, it will remote connect back to the FindVera service from that user’s network. In effect, it exposes them, not you.
It would be interesting to know if the FindVera service logs the IP address information of the requests, since you could use that to track down who stole it
