Reporting Auxiliary Heat from Thermostat Plugin?

I installed a Trane TZEMT400BB32MAA thermostat a year ago on a heatpump system with 2 stage heat .

With RichardTSchaefer’s help, I was able to get it connected correctly and has been working well.

I wrote a dashboard/logging website and it has helped me learn how/where to better insulate the house. I get a report from the verde each time something changes : temp, set temps, status (heat on, cool on), etc.

But I’ve never been able to get any info about whether the 2nd stage of heat has kicked in (auxiliary/emergency heat). Does anyone know if there is a way/variable to read to indicate 2nd stage?

You might be able to infer it by the difference in temperature of the heat set point and the room temperature.

After all that’s how the thermostat works … I can’t recall … but it may be in the installer settings for what delta temperatures trigger the different stages.
