Repeat Door closed Logs

Repeat/Random door closed alerts when door never was opened.

So I have alerts, some only used for logging to show when doors are opened and closed.

A door sitting closed (vacation home that is unused for weeks at a time) will show 2-5 times a day a log for door closed. It never shows a door was opened and rightfully so it was never opened. Why do I get the continued repeat message tho that it’s closed?

Does it happen after a reload ?

Don’t know but looking at it closer seems like different doors are showing the errors around the same time or within a min of each other. With both of my VERA lites maxed out, and restarts a common occurrence. Is this normal to display after a reboot?

Oh, yes. Especially if your Vera is running very low on RAM. The Luup engine can’t write its state to flash, so when it restarts it refreshes its state from the last saved copy, which could be hours or days ago. If the door happened to be open at the time, and now it’s not, Vera thinks you just closed it.

It usually coincides with an error in the Luup log saying that the state couldn’t be written to disk. A hard reboot of your Vera may help for a while. The only long-term fix is to put less load on the Vera.

I had this happen all the time on my Vera2.
