Remote on UI4

Hello All,

I was trying to build a nice graphical interface for my IR devices and to activate some scenes on smartphone web interface, but when I go on the “Remote” tab on a scene it says “Receved Invalid Response”. Is it only happening to me? Is there a way to correct that?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Paulo

I think there maybe something broken on the MCV side at the moment as I just tried it and got the same message. Its worked for me before on the same version I’m on at the moment.

I have the same message, so i can’t add any remote. I have a Usb Uirt, and a Vera2, but i can’t make anything with remotes  No news about that ?

Its not working again; however, I’ve seen it working recently. Something down server side again I guess.

Argh, i bought an Usb Uirt for nothing :frowning: Is there another way to install IR code on the Vera (transfer of a file by SSH ??)

You can create a plugin manually by uploading the xml files; however the Remote builder and the IR plugin builder are separate though in case you didn’t know?

Do you have an iPhone or iPod touch? If so I would use SQ remote as the controller rather that the built in HTML controller!

To find the IR plugin builder go to add/remove devices button in the top left of the dashboard and then you may have to scroll a bit down to the IR device. From there you can build a plugin. In any case you need at least one plugin to use the remote editor anyway!

Also be aware that the plugin database is very limited and you may have to manually create one! I posted in another thread somewhere with a bit of a tutorial here which you should be able to follow.

I tried this, i can select an existing model and install it.
I tried to add “another” model, in this case luup files can’t be downloaded.

How can i learn my own IR codes ? Put the real remote face to the Usbuirt, and learn the codes to a new model ? I’d like “simply” Vera can control my A/V equipment with scenes (no need to have mobile access).

When you select something (Try the AV receiver > Aiwa as an example) do you see the test buttons? Many of the devices that are listed are empty files unfortunately.

Are any of your IR devices listed?

Unfortunately MCV never finished the functionality here for learning and you will have to do this manually. Even without the functionality to learn, then you can still do it manually with a bit of copying and pasting the codes into an existing (similar IR plugin) either using the IR codes database on RC: Infrared Hex Code Database or by learning the codes yourself.

I find the best program to learn them with when you cant find them on remotecentral (if you have a windows PC) is lrnhelper: http://www.usbuirt.com/lrnhelper_0_0_5.zip in conjunction with the the USB-UIRT itself and the driver here: USB-UIRT Web Site

I’ll try and find the my other post where somebody else was trying to do the same thing with success.

After you’ve got it all working then you can use set scenes up using the “advanced” tab in a scene to automate etc!

There are some xml files (to use as a start) and some more information in this thread:

Thanks for your help ! I’ll try with Irnhelper.

Don’t forget the try remote central to see if the codes are already there! It’ll save you some time.
