Just went to install my 4th Pleg running UI7 I noticed that on the newly created Pleg I have an error on the registration page it shows “Error executing function plc_Register(): Cannot read property”
Thoughts?
I’m having the same problem myself as a first time user. I suppose I don’t need to register for 30 days, but getting this message has me concerned that it won’t function properly at all.
I just found the answer in another forum post:
“This sounds like you have not installed the Program Logic Core app, a prerequisite of PLEG and others.”
Maybe I just skimmed the documentation and forum posts too quickly, but there didn’t seem to be an installation guide…that would have been helpful.

Latchme: do you have any “Program Logic Timer Switch” installed? That counts as one of the 4 you paid for and you may need another license.
Liko:
Only one I know of is here
http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,21603.0.html
and is the attached PLEG basics PDF but that doesn’t go into installing so much.
But as you have found you need the LOGIC CORE as the main bases for several of Richards plugins. More info found on Richards web page.

You may also have some limitations on the amount of PLEG devices for your 30 day trial. After that you can purchase 4 more at a time.
There is a free limit that goes forever …
You can always reset the 30 days by uninstalling PLEG, PLC, and PLTS
And then re-installing … The trick is to make sure they have NEWER Vera device IDs than the previous install.

But is there a limit on # of PLEG’s or devices during the trial?
Yes!
When first installed you will have 30 days of unlimited Conditions, and Input access for 4 PLEG or PLTS devices (total count).
This is equivalent to a Single license.
After 30 days you will be allowed to use this software without a license with a max of 5 inputs and 5 conditions for 3 devices.
But you can always uninstall then re-install and start the time clock over … You will just have to reenter your data.
After installing the Logic Core as well, I now receive this message when looking to register:
“Error executing function plc_Register(): Cannot read property ‘replace’ of undefined”
I think I may have found the problem with why some people have problems registering.
I have never been able to duplicate the problem.
Are you currently in violation of the FREE license ?
If so it might not let you register … that’s because the Last PLEG may be in a failed state … and it can not receive the message needed to get a new license.

When did you first install PLEG and How many different ones are installed currently?
So after installing PLC & PLEG (not blaming them), my VeraLite became very slow to respond. I’m guessing these put it over the edge (after having AltUI and a number of other plugins too). So I did a factory reset, and I’m getting this on my first installation which I just performed this morning. This time around, I installed PLC first thinking that was the problem. I even rebooted the VeraLite just to be sure. I’m still getting the “Error executing function plc_Register(): Cannot read property ‘replace’ of undefined” error when trying to re-register (since the factory reset).
I think the way I got it working previously was creating something (anything) within PLEG. Last time (before the factory reset) I starting trying an example from one of the forums for using a motion sensor to turn off the light in a room. I think I hit 4 triggers and thought, “well, maybe I should try to register again” - and it worked.
Would you like me to leave it in this state so that I can help get to the bottom of this error? I really want to give back to this community beyond the license cost and hopefully some day help to improve the solution so more people can enjoy their home automation…
Many of us started with Lite’s and the Ram is just not enough for any extensive plugins or logic. I swapped out two lites for two edges and now have a Plus on order for testing.
Yeah, I just ordered a Plus myself after getting a holiday bonus at work. I think that will be sufficient depending on how far along I get with helping out with LUA and on the forums.
Anyway, I just resolved the registration page problem by going into Control and then clicking Status. Now I can enter a registration code and all is well. For what it’s worth, it says “undefined” at the very top of the page…but that’s probably a cosmetic thing. Hopefully someone else finds this thread in the future useful.
Sounds like you still have an issue. Screen shot would be cool.
Sorry, I wasn’t clear. It said undefined when I followed the steps I mentioned before. After applying the registration key and doing a refresh of the page, everything is functioning as expected. Well, not perfectly as expected, but I know it’s because I’m still learning PLEG
