RedLink & Mitsubishi M

I’ve got a kinda unusual set up; one ductless and one ducted split system, each controlled independently. They’re both Mitsubishi, and the ductless one (Mr. Slim) is controlled via IR remote and the ducted one (M-series) is controlled via RF (MHK1). From what I understand the Mr. Slim ductless unit can also be upgraded to work with an MHK1 though I’m not 100% about that.

Either way, I want to be able to control the whole system through the MCV, but the RF system is apparently this Redlink proprietary system that previous threads suggest is not compatible with the MCV. It looks like the only way to get the MHK1 on line is to use the proprietary Honeywell hub, which is like $80. But it’s not the cash it’s really the principle of it - I just want one hub FFS, which is why I got an MCV in the first place!

Anyway, I wanted to check in to see what others might be doing with their Mr. Slim systems - anyone find an elegant way to tie this all together?

I have 3 ductless mini-splits (Mitsubishi) and I use the Honeywell TCC plugin (written by JoeyD) which utilizes Total Comfort Connect (unofficial API) via Redlink (plugin > cloud > redlink > thermostat). I have 3 of these MHK1 thermostats (kits) and 1 Honeywell Redlink gateway. As I recall, the plugin supports up to 8 thermostats but I think each Redlink gateway can only support 4 devices (i.e. thermostats).

You’ll only install this plugin once and it’s best if you have everything setup as it will detect (via the API payload) the thermostat’s setup via TCC.
