RedLink (Comfort Connect) Cloud Based API Support for Vera ?

I’ve seen various posts within this section mentioning Honeywell Red Link. Of course the Red Link (Honeywell) API isn’t public - not yet. However, It would be nice if Vera or one of many great developers here would work with Honeywell in direct support within Vera. As mentioned in the article, Control 4/Lutron etc. have already done so (see article link below). I realize there are many existing Z-Wave options out there that don’t require something to be developed but it would be nice for those of us who use Honeywell products.

Just seeing if there is any interest out there…

In my case:
a. Heated floors [YTL9160AR1000] in my bathrooms.
b. Mitsubishi ductless systems [MHk1] throughout my house.
c. Legacy HVAC system (Currently Nest) to circulate the heat and air generated by the ductless systems.

API Registration.

I put in a request to join their API program. Hopefully they accept me. Thanks for the info and link! watou

Actually, I want to thank you for registering and I look forward to seeing another great plug-in…

Thanks! Just to be clear, whoever wants to write this plugin, please go ahead! I hope to be able to do it myself but I don’t want anyone to assume I’ve gotten started and shy away from digging in themselves.

I think you’re the only one who’s requested access to their API so you’re officially it… Just kidding. Let us know if you hear anything…

Oh please someone do this. I can help, but I can’t do it alone.

I signed up for the API shortly after Watou - others have as well so maybe it’s a numbers game for Honeywell ::slight_smile:
Fingers crossed…

I just signed up as well. Made sure to mention Vera integration in my request. Hopefully if they see enough requests for Vera we’ll get at least one of us on the list, and work can begin on a plugin.

Does anyone know if micasaverde has reached out to Honeywell to support the Comfort Connect API?

I too would like this. I have a 4 zone a/c & heat setup with Honeywell redlink.

I stumbled upon a WSDL and then found other information within their inline schema…

WSDL:

@CudaNet,

Thanks for that. It might be part of the picture, but anyone’s going to need the whole picture (as I’m sure you know). I saw the URLs you stumbled upon and went to https://rs.alarmnet.com/TotalConnectComfort/ws/ . There was a place to create an account, which I did, but it’s not sent me the confirmation email. Maybe I can get one step further if that comes through.

It seems they have a lot of customers, so this would be a great plugin. Hopefully we get API developer access soon.

watou

Watou,

I had a little time this afternoon to review and I suspect the problem is with applicationID (I was generating one randomly). If one exists (assigned, hard coded or otherwise), then I might have to scope the gateway traffic to see if it’s passed (untouched) forward and if not then this is a wash. Wash meaning I guess we wait and see if the cloud API is ever released. Perhaps if/when the Nest API is released this will give Honeywell a little push.

Thanks for looking this over though…

Just a little update I found this morning on another forum which Honeywell seems to frequent. Posted November 06th by a Honeywell employee.

Our Comfort Control API is currently in Beta I and we are collecting users for Beta II. Stay tuned as we get closer to the Beta II launch and announcement, as there will be some pretty cool campaigns around that launch. Just know that the Beta II group won't be announced until early next year, but when it is, it'll be with some pretty big fanfare.

Well that sounds encouraging. Let’s hope they accept me (or another one of us Vera plugin developers) for the Beta II.

Count me in for this if it ever eventuates.

I have a 7 zone Mr Slim ductless system and also a redlink thermostat for my gas fired steam boiler. Would love to have it integrated through MCV and perhaps even get access to the other controls Honeywell’s web UI and android apps seem to have left. Things like vane direction, fan speed, etc…

Any “movement” on this?

We’ve got a setup with 3 geothermal systems (one of which having two zones). I’d likewise be interested to see integration with it.

Unfortunately no… Perhaps there’s hope with the API release which supports Lyric.

I too would be very interested. I already have a redline thermostat and what I like about it is that I can have several remote temperature sensors and set the thermostat to control the temperature at the sensor I want. Nest can’t do that. Would really be great if it could be integrated.

I too would be interested in this.

anhman - I thought Redlink only worked with 1 remote temp sensor/control (along with an outdoor sensor)?
