Radio Shack IPCamera with NorthQ Firmware calling Home

Hello folks,

This is kind of a public service message of sorts.

I am not a micasverde user; just into Homeautomation. I purchased the Radioshack IP camera for $25 and its been working fine for me. Another peer noticed though that the camera is “calling home”; specfically an IP managed by NorthQ. I have written to them about it and not recieved any replies yet.

The IP camera is going to IP 78.109.216.253 port 8802.

I’ve left a sniffer on and do not see any traffic between my camera and specified internet IP.
