So I have the light remote paired with the ADTPULSE system ( which is similar to the vera )
it’s now recognized by my network ( I used SETUP and 976 code method to get it recognized )
the question now comes to, how do I assign the remote number to the light module ? I couldn’t figure that out, the module and the remote are both on the ADTPULSE network but how do I program the remote to get the modules to be recognized?
Thanks.
I haven’t had any success getting a 45600 to control an individual light. The steps in the manual are:
- Press/hold SETUP (both red and green blink twice)
- Press ADD once (red blinks once)
- Press LIGHT once (red blinks once)
- Press the digit on the remote you want to assign the device to
- Press the button on the device (switch/dimmer/module)
- Green blinks twice
I have NEVER gotten step 6 to complete. Eventually the remote times out, and I get the one long red light.
I have had success with the 45601. For that, the steps are:
- Press and hold SETUP until the screen shows LGHTSETUP
- Press and Release OK and the screen will display ADD.
- Press OK once; the screen will now display TO NETWORK.
- Use either Arrow key to scroll until the display reads TO A KEY andthen press OK.
- Press a digit (1-9) for the device location you wish to add. Press SETUP (SHIFT) and the digit (1-9) if you are adding devices 10 through 18.
- Press OK and the screen will display SETUP WAITING.
- Press the button on the device so that it communicates with the remote.
- When the screen displays SUCCESS, you have successfully added the device to the number key and your network.
It just doesn’t seem to work for individual lights/devices.
Hi guys,
Glad to see others wrestling with this beast. Myself, and others http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,9177.msg65317.html#msg65317, have had problems with the scene transfers from Vera, but the manual assignment to individual lights has worked well for me and is the primary reason this remote hasn’t taken up flying lessons - if you know what I mean.
Looking at what PurdueGuy wrote, I’m with him through step #3. Then:
#4 press the numbered button on the 45600 that I want to assign the light to.
#5 activate the light to pair with a zwave controller - however is appropriate according to the device.
let them pair and the deed is done. I was a bit fearful that the manual pairing would be undone next time I paired the remote with Vera. So far, that hasn’t happened.
Once I took to using this remote for scenes only containing zwave devices and figured out the manual assignment of lights to the individual buttons, I’ve become rather fond of these little devils. Just wish the Vera->45600 scene transfer worked more reliably, but given the initial cost of the remote, I’m happy.
Haven’t attempted manual assignment to groups yet. Can’t comment on that.
Oops…I copied/pasted the wrong part of the manual, them deleted the wrong line. Sorry. I edited my post above.
I still can’t get it to work. I paired with Vera via the “Setup/967” and that works. Then tried as above, and the green light flashes for a while, then I get one long red blink. Argh. ???
Impressive. That has never worked for me, and some others (see @PurdueGuy e.g.).
Which Z-Wave version are you using?
The scene stuff is flaky; I’ll post on the other thread.

I am totally with you here. it times out on the 45600 on mine too even after pressing the button to pair from the Zwave device.
I am buying a 45601 to test out now.
@kwang0429,
Your original post mentioned ADT Pulse as the primary controller, or Vera?

ADTPulse, which I am almost sure it acts the same as vera.
Sorry for the delay, life tends to get in the way of the important stuff ;D
My setup is Vera3, firmware 1.5.322, z wave 3.20 L:1
The 45600 doesn’t list a whelped date, but I recently obtained it from Amazon. I’m guessing that makes it a newer model?
I just tested the unit again to make sure what I posted was accurate. Following those instructions, I was able to successfully pair to the outdoor plug that’s attached to one of the webcams and use the remote to turn that device on and off. Just as easily removed the assignment from the corresponding button.
While at it, I also tried to create a group and give that a go. It seemed to work fine. Both of the lights assigned to the group button came on when the remote ON button was pressed and went off when the OFF button was hit. So it seems that manually programming the group stuff may work, too. Hard to say for sure with only an n of 1, but the indications are encouraging. Haven’t yet fiddled with manually setting up a scene. I’d prefer that get handled by the Vera controller.
I got mine from Amazon 3rd party, was from “Impulse Ind LLC”
It is possible the different sellers have different versions, or that the ATD Pulse system and Vera interact differently.
I am tempted to create a second network with the remote as primary and see if that changes.
Do you have any non-GE devices? I have only tried with Intermatic and Leviton so far. I can try with a GE plug and GE dimmer when I get home.
The z wave devices that I’ve tried this with are:
Intermatic HA01C wall plugs
GE Outdoor Light and Appliance module
GE 45606 Dimmer switch
All seem to respond well to the manual programming. The Intermatics that I have do fine with this remote, so I doubt that compliance is limited to GE/Jasco devices.
I didn’t try manual setup until after committing the recent firmware update. So I can’t say if that influenced the positive results I’m seeing. I seem to recall that unspecified changes were listed for ‘remotes’ in the recent update.
Hey guys quick question, I just got a 45601, how do I pair that to my network?
I know on 45600 I have to get to the code 976 to pair
how about this one?
Thanks

Thanks
Going from memory here:
- press and hold setup until “LGHT SETUP”
- scroll to TRANSFER and hit OK
- scroll to RECEIVE and hit OK
- put Vera in Include Mode (tap the button or via the dashboard)
- the remote should say “Success” after a few seconds
- exit Include Mode by tapping the button (or wait for timeout via dashboard)
anyway to clone 45600 to 45601? what will be the procedure? thanks
If they’re both secondary controllers, you’d have to recreate the scenes, groups and key assignments manually on the other remote.
I recently got 2 of these remotes from amazon. One works fine and I was able to control the individual switches by following the instructions in this thread. But the second remote joins the network but unable to assign the buttons to control a light. The green light keeps blinking and times out, just like your remote. I created a seperate zwave network and it works fine as a primary controller in that network. The only difference I see between the two remote is that the numbers on one of the stickers in the battery compartment is different. May be one of them have a different firmware. Since I paid $6 for each, I am not sure if it is worth the effort to return it. Hopefully there will be a fix for this remote soon. Any way I went ahead and ordered couple of 45601 remotes for now.

Got an individual light assigned to a button on a 45600 after loading Z-Wave firmware 2.78 (on a Vera 2 @ 1.1.1245)!
So perhaps there is a newer version of the remote that has more recent (Z-Wave) firmware.
Let me ask you this, is this possible to copy the control from GE45601 to GE45600?
I was thinking now I have my 45601 set up, perhaps there is a easy way for me to duplicate all assignments to 45600 since the pairing single did not work?
