Push Notification Plugin

I tried a few more times since my post yesterday but still cant get it working. If anyone could help please.

Can anyone tell me if this plugin is no longer supported. I have tried to get it working with no luck and would really appreciate some help. Many thanks.

gentle bump

since the last update was almost a year ago iā€™d say itā€™s no longer supportedā€¦:frowning:

I think your right! Ive given up on it. Will need to look at another plugin.

Which plugin do people recommend?

Vera Alerts!

Is that your unbiased view

Vera Alerts is the way to go imo, it makes it so easy to send alerts to multiple systems

I mainly use it to send pushover messages to Android, Prowl for IPhone, and of course regular email

Which Android alert services does it work with. I have Xend, Does it work with that?

When your on the Android ā€¦ The Vera Alerts APP is the best ā€¦
But it also supports Pushover, and Pushbullet.

For what is worth iā€™ve added Boxcar compatibility to this plugin, a completely free alternative to Growl
I may or may not look into supporting Tizen for Samsung SmartTV
Required files can be found here.
All credits go to Massalia for the great work heā€™s done!

If anyone is interested, I also run the popular AltUI on this forum, I successfully sent a PushOver using AltUI but still not from home.getvera. So it does work but up to you if you want to run AltUI. Worth checking out at anyrate.

Hi Everybody,

I am trying to get this plugin to work on my VeraEgde 1.7.707 but when I fill in the pushover api key an save it it says it is saved etc. but it actually does not seem to save it.
Any clues what I am doing wrong?

Also , not sure if I understand how to use this plugin, it says you have to use it in a scene but I canā€™t fin dit anywhere when I create a scene.
I have a device though

You need to use the Advanced Advanced tab in the Scene builder.
Then add the push notification device to the scene ā€¦ then the action and args.

You can also use Vera Alerts plugin to send your push notifications.
You can still send an alert as above ā€¦ but you can also create an Alert with the ā€œNotificationsā€ tab on a device.

Hi Thanx for you comment, but what about the part of not saving the pushover api key?
By the way, I found the part in the scene, thank for your help!

regarding the vera alerts plugin, not sure I understand how it works, I installed it but I canā€™t see any extra options in the alerts options of the device, I still only can find the actual vera alerts that send the emails and sms.

The not saving has been a transient problem with UI7 for over a year.

To improve your success wait 5 minutes after you make changes before you restart Vera.

With Vera Alerts you use the Standard Notifications tab on devices to create notifications.

Then customize them in the Notifications Configuration tab in the Vera Alerts plugin.

I tried to install push notification plugin on AltUI, but no success.
In order to get the latest version 0.99 (only0.88 in theis thread) I installed the plugin on vera, downloaded all files from vera, put them in my openluup directory in /files, and created a device in AltUi with

luup.create_device ("", "", "vs_push_notification", "D_IosPush.xml")

The decive is created, but I cannot access the config page.
This is in the log:

There seems to be some files missing. Maybe this is due to my Ubuntu install.
Any ideas what I could try?
I read further up in the thread that @tomtcom was able to get it to work with AltUI.

Push notification plugin suddenly stopped sending prowl messages!?

Test-button donā€™t send anything. Main page of the plugin says:
You have 999 message(s) available, the counter will be reseted to 1000 on 19 Aug 2017 19:51:7, which is excatcly one hour after the last received prowl message was received. Seems that plugin cannot connect to prowl servers.

When testing message sending from prowl webpage, massages are send and received.

Same here :frowning:

Ditto. Tried to uninstall and re-install. No luck. Sent a support ticket but nothing back from them yet. Anyone have an alternate solution for IOS?
