I was unable to find anything useful after searching, but am happy to be shown otherwise.
As I am continuing to renovate my home’s infrastructure, I find myself shutting down my vera 3 occasionally. As I am doing rack rewiring, putting it on a UPS doesn’t always work for me.
I do not see /sbin/shutdown.
Is /sbin/poweroff the correct way to shut down Vera 3 prior to pulling the plug? Are any of the normal command-line parameters recommended?
If /sbin/poweroff is the right way to go, what I see happening is that all the front panel lights go off save for the power light. Is that the right time to cut power?
There is no reason to do anything fancy … just unlplug it !
This was a problem for computers, caused mainly because of the rotating magnetic disks and the long periods of time when a write operation had a file in an inconsistent state … but this is not a problem with the newer file systems used by newer operating systems … and virtually impossible with computers with solid state file systems like Vera.
