problems with Remotec Scene Master ZRC-90

Thanks!!!
I changed the device_json to D_CentralSceneController1.json and now I see all the button options!

I have only used single and double push options. Let me know if you try and succeed on the other options.

@dorpjes
Have you had chance to detail how you are using long presses with Lua code.

Setting the device_json to the correct value makes the options appear correctly in the UI - and this was confirmed by Vera support on the phone - this is a known issue.

However, between us, spending an hour on the phone (with multiple re-adds and full Remotec device resets), we were unable to get my particular device to fully associate correctly - the wakeup never finished correctly, so scene purging etc never happened correctly. I was advised that there was probably an issue with the z-wave side of the device, and that it should be replaced.

On mine, after association I had to wake the Remotecto finish off. It was then great until some hours late when I got the infamous cannot detect device but this causes no problems for me.
Perhaps they are correct that yours is faulty. I assume you are exchanging. Good luck.

Yes, got that far - the wakeup failed to do the business - even when hitting configure device now on the vera at the same time.

I managed to configure different scenes with different button options by using scene menu.

My problem is how to trigger different modes. In devices/select scenes for device buttons, vera asks for number of buttons for the remote, and after that, everytime I configure each button, they do nothing…

Somebody has the answer for this problem?

I’ve received the replacement ZRC-90. Same issue, gets added, doesn’t pull in the device name correctly, when performing the wakeup, the last message shown is purging associations. Therefore I can only assume it is an issue with the Vera

Some of these devices like the minimote can be super finicky to get to join and sync up correctly with Vera, since they are essentially a zwave contoller unto themselves.

Unpair the remote, bring the device right next to the Vera. Add it back to the Vera, but dont touch it right away and don’t go into the UI and start messing with it right way after adding, let it sit there for maybe 1-2 minutes before going into the UI, you might find that the name changes while it finishes exchanging info with the Vera.

Then try to go do your thing. If these are anything like the minimote that might help. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries to get the minimote to add correctly, so you might have to remove and re-add the remote a few times.

I found that linking scenes to the device using he device tab didn’t work for me. The only was was via the create scene tab. I have never told mine how many buttons it has and it doesn’t seem to worry.

Still struggling to get it working - it never seems to associate correctly - spotted this in the logs:

10 01/02/17 13:58:10.471 Job::m_sNotes_set job#9 :addn dev:1 (0xdb4c40) P:10 S:5 dataversion 365241196 changing from Transferring scenes… -to- Device failed to configure

Recent things I’ve tried:

  • Upgraded to the latest non-beta firmware on the vera and associating
  • Tried backing up the vera, used “Reset to default”, tried associating just the ZRC-90 and nothing else - same result
  • Restored from the backup and associated - same result.

The ZRC-90 has a firmware version of 1.01 - does anyone with a working one have the same (or different) version?

I have not got it to work either and I have seen issues for several people.

How did you get the hold of the logs?

Victor

If you haven’t done so already, raise a case with Vera support - they seem to be looking into it, so hopefully another person with an issue may provide more information for them to narrow it down.

Hi guys,

The latest UI7 Beta software update has the following item under ‘other fixes’:

  • Make Remotec ZRC-90 work on all frequencies, and enable double-tap functionality

http://support.getvera.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2729880-ui7-▾-beta-software-update-▾-version-7-0-20b-1-7-913-1-7-2551-1-7-2552-▾-february-1-2017

Might be worth checking out.

Could someone tell me how to use the zrc-90 with pleg.
When i try to add a device trigger i got the message: trigger description error; type error; cannot read property ‘value’ of undefined.
see attachment.

Trying posting this in the PLEG section.

Hi Richard
