Problem or issues reports

Hi Cor,

I am not sure why the connection between your Vera and Hub is so shaky. I get the message maybe twice a year, well the ones I see as the next poll should normally clear it when it was an one time connection problem.

The variables on the Vera GUI are not always showing the most recent value. A browser refresh should help.

Cheers Rene

I stopped Chrome browser and reloaded , it still shows 2.14. but not this error code anymore.

BUT ;D I got another one now for you: :-\

I don’t have anything with bluetooth , so I have no idea where this comes from.

Cor

Hi Cor,

If you upload files as you did, the version number reported in Installed Apps will not change. It should say 2.15 when you look in the plugin Advanced variables tab.

You are not getting anything easy from the harmony are you :o. This is an error reported by the Hub so that is where the solution lies. Have you tried to look with the myHarmony program and see if there is any issue with the setup?

Success. Cheers Rene

Ah OK , I will hook up my Harmony on my computer and check, but that will be for tomorrow.

Thanks for your time!

Cor

Hi Rene,

I have hooked up my Harmony ultimate to my computer , downloaded the app , but I can’t find anything wrong. I also can’t find anything to do with bluetooth.

Harmony Control : CMD: Failed sending command start_activity to Harmony Hub - errorcode=401, errormessage=Bluetooth not paired

Attached some screenshots , maybe you have an idea where to look what is wrong.
(slaapkamer, livingroom , hobbyroom are sonos devices, Rx… is my Yamaha amplifier , advanced digital braodcast , is a mediabox for television ( no bluetooth there), windows computer is a desktop computer , also no bluetooth)

edit , I just have a hunch here , since “my harmony says” with the device “windows computer” >> Logitec Harmony PC. And I have one of these Logitec bluetooth keyboard… you have suggestion?

edit 2 : yep it looks like that is the problem there , the error 401 only comes when I start the activity “watch computer”. Do you have any idea how I can troubleshoot this further?

Many thanks,
Cor

Hi Cor,

Not really sure, but I know you can some how link a keyboard to the Hub. Maybe the Windows PC definitions are setup on the Hub to include that?

Else it would be a question for a Logitec forum.

Cheers Rene

Are other settings effected when the userID and password fields get emptied? Does the device number change? If the latter your Vera seems to recreate the plugin for some reason. No idea why that would be though.

Hi
I checked again, and I wrote it wrong before, sorry. My userID and Password is stored in settings (password in plain text :o ) but it’s my hubs IP that is disappearing, and only that.
If I fill it in, it is gone a again a day or so later.

The device number is the same, and all my Harmony devices are still here.

Can you update to the latest version 2.17 and see if the IP address problem is over? Since version 2.15 the password is not shown readable on the settings screen anymore, but it is stored plain in a variable. However, today the Harmony Hub communication works without authentication so you can enter a dummy value. I am keeping it in incase Logitech make a change and do require authentication.

Hi, after several years of tries I succeed to update from 2.13 to 2.17. For some reason it didn’t update even with auto update?

But the problem is still there. Harmony Ipnr field is clear after a while.

Hi Andr,

Auto update does not Always work reliably. And for the IP address I’m at a loss as well. When not saving the settings, the plugin only reads it so it must be a Vera issue on selected units. Don’t ask me how ???.

Cheers Rene

My hub seems to respond when it wants to but rarely. about 99% of the time all I see is “Harmony Control : CMD: Failed sending command get_config to Harmony Hub - errorcode=503, errormessage=Unknown Harmony response” in the error section of my Vera. It was running flawlessly up until about 2 months ago and its just driving me crazy. I thought it might be my router downstream so I replaced that but nada. I know my username and password are perfect as I hve changed that. I deleted the app and re-added about three times now and still nothing. Not really sure where to start troubleshooting this. Is there a diagram anywhere that shows the flow of traffic so that I can dig deeper? I’m down to a basic config and when I installed it it worked for a minute and then It goes back to that error. Any help would be great.

Hi hectog,

Are you running the latest 2.17 version of the plug-in? Have you tried to turn the hub off and on again?

The data flow is simple, just a direct IP connection between the Vera and the Hub. Only restriction is that they must be in the same subnet, but if it was not in your case, you would get an other error message.

What you can try is set the logging to Debug in the plugin settings and share what you are seeing.

Cheers Rene

I am running 2.17 and I put it in debug mode a day or two ago but I dont see anything when I go to the logs. I might not be checking the right place. I am going to the harmony device, on the control tab I click on logs.

When I click devices or activities I see this : Error : Failed to get data from Hub.

Link Status:Error
Current Activity ID :
Last command:list_devices
Last command time:08:28:26 Tue, 04 Apr 2017

I have tried rebooting the hub various times and syncing it with the harmony app. The harmony app is working flawlessly from my phone.

My setup is as follows, I have a router giving the DHCP and another router hanging off one leg but its acting like a switch. DHCP is turned off on the second router that I am using as an AP. I have lots of other stuff using this same wireless setup and everything is working so it is unlikely that the problem is the router setup.

UPDATE:

I tried reloading the engine on my vera and that allowed me to see my devices again as well as my activities. lasted less than 5 minutes and now I cant see them any longer but this was the status I had while it was working. A second reload after this one did nothing.

Link Status:Ok
Current Activity ID :
Last command:list_activities

Hi hectorg,

You can look at the Vera log file using this URL http://[your vera IP]/cgi-bin/cmh/log.sh?Device=LuaUPnP

You say you have DHCP. Are you assigning the same IP address to the hub all the time?

Cheers Rene

yes I use DHCP but have reservations set for both the vera and logitech hub.

Thanks for that tip on the logs, I wasn’t aware you could do that. I went ahead and tried to list devices and activities and both worked this morning, then I tried to view again within a couple of minutes and the error started again. Here is the end of the log just after it happened.

This is an old thread and possibly already resolved. Turns out I got the 423 error when the IP address was reassigned. Didn’t always happen with a reset, but seems to be coincident with power outages from our MANY lightning storms and strikes.
I should have thought of this before, but I reserved the hubs via their macs (have two, one upstairs, one downstairs), and entered the fixed ip address back into the vera app.

Worked for me, so thought I would share.

Ok, read more and synced the hub from my phone and got rid of the error.

What’s with 4 recatchas wouldn’t you say that’s a bit of over kill?

I just installed this after having an older version on my UI5 system. I removed the devices and deleted the old plugin, reinstalled 2.19 and get stuck at the Harmony Control:Configure IP Address, email and password. I configure all these, save and then go to activities and I just get an infinite “please wait”. I’ve triple checked, email, ip, password, reinstalled a couple times and still nothing. I’m able to log in from my phone app so I know the hub is accessible.

Any thoughts?

Hi Mike,

After the Vera has completed the luup reload, did you refresh the browser? In UI7 this is more often needed than in UI5 I found.

If that does not help, can you send a bit of the log file showing possible messages from the plugin? You can set the log level to debug to get more details in the log.

Cheers Rene

Hi Rene,

I ended up reverting back to the older version I had installed. Thanks for the info though.

Mike
