Setup > Backup > Restore to Factory Defaults should do it.
Some things won’t be changed by a restore:
[ul][li]The Vera’s serial number and its hardware key will not change. If your friend is not a black-hat hacker this should not matter, but be aware that any previous owner may have saved these strings and can impersonate your Vera.[/li]
[li]Any settings on mios.com tied to the serial number will not change. This includes the list of administrative users, backups (which include Wi-Fi passwords on Vera2 and Vera3), archived images.[/li][/ul]
If possible, have your friend delete the list of administrative users (or add your username as an administrator) before doing the factory reset. I believe you need MCV Support to delete backups and archived images.
I recently purchased a used VeraLite Controller that is still associated with the previous owner’s account. I tried the remove_ra link but received this error message… “ERROR: User not assigned to access pointOK”
When I run that in Chrome I get, “Oops! Google Chrome could not find vera_ip” Any suggestions? Just got my new/used Vera Lite and can’t get the old guy’s account off.
I just got a vera lite from the amazon warehouse and it had already been linked to an account. This thread helped but it seemed like people on here either could access the ui or had the old users account info.
When i tried to logon it asked for the username and pass. Vera lite does not have a default password so this was the previous owners info. The setup website said that this was linked to another user.
I emailed vera tech support and they required me to prove i owned the box and then they reset it and removed it from the other owners account.
It was really easy and it happened in about 24 hours.
For those people that are presented with a prompt for a username and pass and cant get any further. I would suggest emailing support and they will reset the box.
I did try pressing the button on the unit but as i understand this only resets the networking settings and not the security settings.
