Hello everyone,
I’m new on this forum, recieved my vera lite today. The most important thing i want to do with it is to attach it to my powermax pro central.
My usb2serial cable lookt like the BT-DB925 as mentioned on the wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Serial_Supported_Hardware#USB-Serial_Devices site.
I installed the powermax app on my vera lite, but the usb2serial cable is not recognized in my serial port configuration.
Where to start now? i mean where can i find logging/debugging infromation?
On the wiki site mentioned above there is a link to:
http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php?action=profile;u=2618
But i am not allowed to view that post.
Hope you guys can help me out.
Thanks
The Serial port, if recognized, will appear in UI5 under:
Apps >> Develop Apps >> Serial Port configuration
If it doesn’t show up there, then use this thread covers how to diagnose Serial Port problems:

The first post shows the commands to run on the cmdline of Vera to determine why the port isn’t working. If you’re using any other devices, or a USB Hub, out the Back of a Vera Lite then the recommendation is to use a Powered USB Hub. Without that, Vera can do strange things. Since you have a new Vera, I doubt this is a problem for you just yet.
PS: The link you posted above is to my Profile, which you don’t need for this exercise
Thanks for your respond, i’m going to try that this afternoon. As i said i’m new to the vera lite so have to find out how things can be logged and debugged.
I dit the diff -u trick. My logging shows this:
usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 4
usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using rt3883-ohci and address 5
usb 2-1: USB disconnect, address 5
+usb 2-1: new full speed USB device using rt3883-ohci and address
is it possible to get this rt3883 working?
Is your USB-Serial device hanging off a hub or plugged directly into the [single] USB connector on the Vera3?
If it’s on a hub, can you list the full set of components attached?
