AK,
Any luck on your Minimote ? I was trolling through the z-way forum and found this. Sounded similar to what you had mentioned. May or may not help, who knows…

Noticed my Yale fell off the face of the Earth. Guess I’ll need to pair it back to the RaZ board… It’s like everything went wacky all at once at my house. I’m thinking I might just go ahead and move all the 6:1’s to the RaZberry as well as my Fibaro’s. Basically everything that seems to be in an adverse state on my Vera network excluding the switches which I need so I’ll un-pair them and add them back.

Ah, brilliant, I will give it a go. Many thanks.
Sorry about your problems. The basic stuff works fine on the RPi: switches, dimmers, sensors. I’m beginning to feel confident in the event of a Vera demise.
To some extent the choices that Vera has made in presenting ZWave devices are arbitrary, so we may end up looking slightly different, but the functionality should be there in the end.

Well, it certainly did help! Now I see all 8 buttons, so that’s progress. Many thanks.
Sorry, been late to respond. Wife is flying in tomorrow and I’m rushing around trying to make it look like I’ve been keeping up with things while she was gone.
Glad the link helped, these scene controllers are a bit of a pain in the eyes of z.way !

I woke up this morning to more than 70% of my z-wave network (Vera controller) exhibiting issues with devices. Tonight I reset the controller, restored backup then ran a heal. Recovered all but 2 devices. Within an hours time, I’ve lost probably 40% of the devices. I check the Raz (Expert) and AFAIK, it looks like it’s having issues too. So is it possible either of these units are stepping on one another ? Or is it somehow another device on the network gone rogue ! The last device I added was the Yale lock.
I’m going to power off the Raz/rPI and see what happens… Will report back later tonight.
Edit: Found my second Vera controller with battery devices also exhibiting the same issue. Took the batteries out of the Yale lock just in case… So odd !

unless you connected the 2 controllers ( by connecting a controller into the other as a secondary controller or something like that ) this cannot happen to me. I would more suspect a vera problem
I’m having the exact same problem, with openZwave and Vera, Something weird has to be happening when 2 Z-wave controllers on separate networks are placed in the same room. I’ve started to experience this problem after I ran “Heal Network” within openZwave… I will be testing a few more things today such as power cycling all circuit breakers and restoring the z-wave network.
Thanks for the feedback. Obviously needs investigating. I have Vera and Razberry in the same room for testing, but I never (AFAIK) run a network heal. It was one of the first things I switched off to make Vera more stable.
I think I can conclude that the source of the problem occurs while running “Heal Network” in any of the Z-wave controllers. In my case, As soon as openZwave finishes Healing the network, devices on both z-wave network started to respond again.
Well, so where in UI7 can we disable the overnight heal ? I’ll have to research the RaZberry but I think I know where it can be disabled…
Thanks,
CN
I can’t find it anymore… this was something that changed with the UI7 firmware… the heal option disappeared. However, it’s undeniably true that my system does not reload every night, so I forget how I accomplished this ???
Yes, I searched and others comment on disabling this feature (nightly) but nothing specific.

There is no automatic nightly heal in UI7.
Ah, just an urban legend and here I am keeping it going… Thanks for clearing that up RTS, much appreciated.
Had to finally remove my Yale lock tonight from z-way. I tried to properly exclude the lock itself but it just wouldn’t allow it. It just stopped talking to z-way and was showing all kinds of packet failures as well as indicating the device was dead. I then tried MCV to see if I could exclude but that didn’t work either. I then just had z-way delete the device all together. I may have to reach out to Yale and see what they recommend. There’s a reset switch (internally) but I don’t know if that will reset the pairing (worth a shot). It honestly shouldn’t be this hard. I’m still wondering if the lock is defective or it’s me just jacking with things after a looong day (I should no better by now).
I did not know that the Razberry had support for Z-Wave security classes needed by Door locks (and some newer Z-wave devices).
The manufacturer wants $25K for a development license, extremely strict NDA, and binary only distribution to users.
Not quite compatible with open source projects. I do not think it’s been reverse engineered like the rest of the protocol.

Z-Way has been handling door locks for quite some time. I was running nothing but Z-Way for a while and then got a Very Plus so that I could do advanced logic (thanks to PLEG) without having to write JavaScript code every time I wanted to do something fairly complex. The Z-Way user interface exposes parts of the Z-wave devices that no one really needs (or wants) to see but if you’re a programmer with time to learn the API, you can really do a lot…
Yup, that’s true! However, it seems to be the best of all the Z-Wave APIs out there.
Awesome !

In order to get the Yale lock excluded from you Z-Stick (any kind) what has worked for me is get the lock or the stick as close as possible (literally together) then set the controller in to exclude more, then enter your mater pin code, then press 7, then press 3. If it does not get excluded (by a beep confirmation) try again and again.
It has work for me recently.
