I have GE/Jasco dimmer switches. Work fine with dimmable, incandescent bulbs. Just replaced some bulbs with the Phillips BR30 LED bulb. Now the bulbs will not turn all the way off. More specifically, The switch controls two light fixtures. One bulb will go out but one bulb remains partially on - about 1% dim.
I’ve tried other LED bulbs with these switches and wound up returning them because they would not go completely off.
Is this an LED thing or a dimmer switch issue?
Which GE dimmer exactly? If it is the older type without a Neutral wire, then LEDs will behave as you describe. You should consider replacing this type of switch if you are using LEDs.
My switches have model number zw3003. I am pretty sure that is 45612.
There is line, load, traveler and ground connections. No neutral.
Sounds like time to upgrade switches. Not something I really want to do again. Any idea what is a reasonable, hourly rate for an electrician to do the work in Alabama?
Sometimes Amazon even offers an install service at the time of purchase. Although, I don’t see it on this page: GE 14294 Dimmer(Z-Wave Plus / Gen5), I might be missing it or it maybe regional.
