Pentair Intelliflo Automation

I’ve got a Pentair Intelliflo pump installed for a fountain. All it needs to do is run a single speed and nothing else. I’d like to add on/off functionality to my VeraPlus and was planning to install an Intermatic or Aeotec 220v relay and just control power to the pump directly. However, I’m not sure if there is any way to get the pump to auto-start at a selected speed when power is applied. Do I have to figure on a different solution like some kind of RS-485 interface? If so, any recommendations for the cheapest way to trigger an Intelliflo pump to start and stop a single speed?

I believe if you set a modified speed (not preset) on the pump then disconnect power it will restart at that modified speed the next time you apply power. You can try it by setting the speed then flipping the breaker. When you flip it back on it should resume that speed. If that works then you can simply use your relay. As far as RS-485 comms with the pump Autelis makes a unit that will control it standalone.

I have been working with many others to create an app that will control Intelliflo pumps. Come check it out @ Github. https://github.com/tagyoureit/nodejs-Pentair

I have a Jandy system connected to two Pentair Intelliflo Variable Speed Pumps. I have a Jandy Touch Panel. When I look at the Status I see the Pentair Motor Status and RPM, etc… I would like to receive the Pentair motor status in my ISY system. Is there a error report variable or message the ISY can see to trigger a text message upon a pump error condition using the Autelis System?
