Does anyone know of any good outdoor thermometers that work with the vera which will work at -40? I’d like to be able to set up a system such that vera can turn on my car plug periodically if the temperature is below a certain point (probably around -25F or -30F), but to do so I need something that will still be working when it hits -40. Alternative, if there was a way to tie my existing (non zwave) wireless temperature sensors into the vera (oregon scientific), or even just pull a “current conditions” report off the internet, that would work too. Thanks.
You can use the App “Wunderground Weather Plugin” to do this, it’s easy and free way to get the outdoor temp. You can also buy a device that will pull data from your oregon scientific temp sensor but it isn’t cheap $80-$100.
Ah, yes, I see that plugin, and it should work just fine. The free part is nice as well
Just out of curiosity, would you know what device I would need to interface with my oregon scientific sensor? It’s probably not worth it, but i’d be interested in checking it out anyway. Thanks!
I’m not using one of these, but this should work. Double check for your device.
