[quote=“chocorem, post:4, topic:182915”]Yes the rabbit is totally independent from the servers, but you need first to install openkarotz on the rabbit. After that, you can control it from a web ui or from this plugin !
So the plugin needs a Json parser which is not included, I will fix this in further release. In the meantime, install google calendar plugin which contains one
Unfortunaly, I’ve got the same issue during Lua startup.
Google Calendar plugin is already install.
I’ve found a json.lua file in /usr/lib/lua/
I’ve check for a more detailled error in LuaUpnp.log and I’ve found the following error:
CallFunction_Startup-1 device 292 function KarotzStartup failed /usr/lib/lua/json.lua:213: Failed to scan c1;1mLuaInterface::1;1mLuaInterface::CallFunction_Startup-1 device 292 function KarotzStartuped /usr/lib/lua/json.lua:213: Failed to scan constant from stringr":“00FF00”,“secondary_color”:“000000”,“pulse”:“1”,“no_memory”:“0”,“speed”:“2000”,riled to scan constant from stringg eturn":“0”}
I would like to use the plugin as well, however it won’t start because of the same error as above.
I’m impressed by the openkarotz firmware though, I can choose the TTS-voice I like(3 for NL, I like!) and als have the karotz invoke scenes on the Vera.
Still figuring out how to let the rabbit speak from the vera(the only task it performed until now)
The existence of this Vera plugin persuaded me to install the Open Karotz firmware, which has very good functionality.
Unfortunately, like others have reported, I get the Startup Lua Failed error in Vera. As suggested, I tried installing of Google Calendar plugin (both plugin versions), but this did not fix the issue.
I hope development of the Vera plugin continues, as I can see me using it every day for status notifications etc.
I’m looking for solution (possible an (open)Karotz device) that allows me:
Blink lights based events send from a device like Vera
Speak based on events from a device like Vera
I want to use it to actively inform me in my living room about events like a doorbell or movement.
Now I know that Karotz is not being shipped anymore… Is there something similar on the market that can be bought or easily be build?
If not does any of you know if there is still a hidden stash of Karotz out there that someone would sell?
Cheers and thanks!
