Trying to find anything current and useful is so frustrating. Linear WT00Z-1 to Linear WD500Z-1 - This is touted by everyone to be the best way to remotely control a lamp. I cannot find anything that works in the UI7 arena. Any help out there?
You are running the latest version: 1.7.730
Early versions of UI7 had issues with setting up direct associations, but more recent versions can do it just fine. What firmware are you on? If you need complicated end points you might have trouble though.
If you are just trying to do group1 and you don’t want to update your firmware, you can use a minimote to do group1 associations.
Created a new information setup chart walkthrough since all the scattered ideas/manual were very dated or of no use.
Association ? WT00Z-1 & WD500Z-1/PD300Z-2
Version: 1.7.730 UI7
Associations are used by ZWave devices to send commands from one device (WT00Z-1) to another (WD500Z-1/PD300Z-2), independent of the controller. Associations can be used to turn on/off a device/light when the WT00Z-1 is triggered on or off.
Associations can also be used to have a movement sensor, when triggered, turn a device/light on or off.
For the normal Association of WT00Z-1:
- Include the devices into your Z-Wave network. Connect to your Vera Device.
- Go to “Devices” and find the WT00Z-1
- Go to “Device Options”
- In the box after “Group ID:” enter a 1 then click “Add group”
- Under the new “Group ID: 1” heading click the “Set to:”
- Find your WD500Z-1/PD300Z-2 on the list and check the box next to it
- Click “Save” at the bottom and wait for it to setup
- Click “Back to ZWave options” button at bottom
- Finally click the “Save Changes” button on the main device page
Now the WT00Z-1 should turn on and off the device/light when used.
ENJOY!
