Old Vera2 with no password on the bottom

How do I find out what the password is, for logging into the box?

The password is not recoverable that I am aware of.

However, if you use a backup from a box with a known password and restore it to the box with the unknown PW they will then have the same PW.

If you flash the box, the PW will revert back to being unknown.

Thanks for the response … that looks like the best way to do this. I have a newer Vera at home that I can pull the backup file from.

I haven’t tried this, but given that Vera is an OpenWrt box, you should be able to start it in failsafe mode, telnet to it, and look for the password in the nvram (nvram show | grep vera_wifipass).

Just how you get Vera2 into failsafe mode isn’t certain, but it’s probably similar to Vera1, where you have to mash a button while plugging in the power cord.
