Old Style BBSB switches and RFXtrx

Hi guys,

I’m new round here, so take pity on me!

I used to be using the BBSB online controller, along with Harmony 2007 software, however unfortunately the link between the controller and the pc became a little fragile, so we’re now looking to setup the RFXtrx to replace the online controller, while we build up z-wave devices.

Can anyone advise how to go about using the old style bbsb switches, that have the 2 device code dials on the front of the unit? The values range from A-H and numbers 1-8.

Thanks
Tony

If you happen to have some other RF remote controller for your BBSB devices you could try to sending some on/off commands and see if the USB RFXtrx Tranceiver Plugin picks up the signals and automatically creates your devices in Vera controller. This is how I created the devices for my X10 stuff in Vera. I just took a wild guess that this would also be possible for your type of devices. Just make sure you have enabled the correct protocols in your Transceiver.

Hi Tomas,

thanks for your response. I’ve managed to get the old plugs working now, using the ARC protocol, using the letter/number combination.

Now to work on the newer sockets.

Thanks
Tony

Ok, update on the newer sockets, as these have been assigned house codes too, to work with Harmony 2007 and the BBSB online controller, setting up the newer style of sockets just uses the same details, using ARC, light switch, then the code.

All is good

Thanks
Tony
