After 25 days without any reboot, reset, delay or other things that may avoid falling in love with Vera, I really had a stable machine running the 616 release.
Yesterday Aaron updated my Vera wit a 9xx release and tested my window coverings remotely. Now my Vera is running 949, without any stability problem so far and more functions even with existing devices.
I was stable with 939 for a week, but it froze up when I went on vacation – which is when I really needed it to work! It was supposed to cycle my garden fountains every day and cycle the lights in the evening to make the place look “lived in”. Unfortunately, it froze and I wasn’t at home to cycle the power to Vera to get it running again.
Let me just say AARGH
I guess I have nothing to lose by trying the latest firmware (949?) to see if it will keep Vera from freezing.
I’m running 939 as as well. it locks up approx ever 5-7days and I need to do a reboot. Sometimes I have to reboot and reseat the dongle. The logs show that it either can not configure or poll any devices and I guess it clogs the zwave command queue and any commands I submit get really backed up.
Otherwise It runs well between reboots. If it is the Aeon Labs stick, then will there be another fw upgrade?
I’m into day three with 944 and I’m very happy so far. It has added support for scene buttons selection for my Leviton 4 scene VRCS4-MRX. And I REALLY like the new before sunrise/after sunrise and sunset drop down menu in Scenes/Add Timers. Thanks, MCV!
I’m still happy with 949. With one single exception. I have one scene that closes all window coverings (Rolladen) at night. Every evening the same two devices kept open - and I can’t find the reason. The two devices work “manually” as well as in other scenes.
I wish there were a list of fixes for these updates. Any idea what changed between 944 and 949?
I’m a Vera-crack addict looking for my next fix, so I’d like to update. On the other hand, things are starting to get pretty darn stable around my house and I’m getting my scenes fine tuned. I’d hate to have to go back and start over. It’s awesome, really, but I still have this self-destructive ache for the buzz of trying out the latest release. Any advice?
