I noticed (or rather my wife did) that when I updated a while ago to the luup version of Vera that she stopped receiving email notifications. They continued to work for me. Today I was looking through events on findevra.com and noticed that her email address was being truncated to 30 characters (hers is actually 39). When I look at the notification email addresses within Vera they are complete - no missing characters.
I think a restriction of 30 characters is too small, and that whatever restriction is in place should be reflected in the input panels on Vera.
Not being glib, but you want MCV to accomodate a 39 character e-mail address? As I am a take responsibilty myself person, may I suggest a shorter e-mail address?
While it might sound long it really is not that long. Count how many characters are in your own. I find my one is pretty short and it’s already 23 characters. Put a long name together with a long domain name and you’re quickly out …
This is not an unreasonable request. did you ever think that between you and the ISP you there is a potential for a Email much longer than 30 characters.
It worked fine pre LUUP it should work now.
MCV does know about it. I thought it was fixed.
Besides the fill in box should not allow more characters than will work. This just makes for more complaints!
I haven’t tried using an email past 30 characters but I do have one that’s 31. @sbcglobal.net is 14 on it’s own so I can see how you would go past 30 pretty easy even if you are just using your name as the first half.
Ok, it does work but I had to remove her email and then put it back again. I guess it got messed up from an earlier version and I needed to push something back to correct it.
Yeh
several weeks ago there was a issue and MCV figured out and corrected. I was not aware that you had to add and then remove the email. However I did notice a few failed attempts that were @ . That was it @ … I reset the check boxes and now it seems ok.
Go figure.

BTW, thanks for your earlier post. It was only when you said it worked with 40 that I got the idea to try resetting her account in Vera :).
