So far I have spent about 6 hours trying to set up a basic ZWave set up and so far not progressing too well
The first 3 hours were spent trying to get the Vera Lite to work, finally debugged that to the supplied Ethernet cable being faulty
Trying to use this forum and other resources to resolve issues left me puzzled, as suggestions bore no relationship to what I was seeing. i finally figured out that i am on UI7 whereas mot titorials etc seem to be on UI5 or earlier.
I am getting so many issues such as:
Inclusion not working from the UI.
Included devices stopping responding
“Ghost” devices on the interface that do not seem to be deletable.
Door Sensors being picked up as PIR sensors
Parameters for the Key Fob disappearing after being entered.
Instructions being out of date: eg “There is a different button used to include the key fob button, 1 for 1.4 button 3 for 1.3”, what do I use for 1.7? is one example
I can’t set the location, In Jersey the nearest “city” shown is 200 miles away, in one version of the interface I should be able to enter Lat /Long in another version select from a map, neither available on UI7
There is a lot more …
Anyway I’ve got to start getting rid of some of the variables. At the moment, I can’t be sure if my problems relate to lack of knowledge (obviously the most probable issue) or possible hardware problems or possible Interface problems?
In the first instance I would be grateful for advice as to whether downgrading to UI5 would be the most sensible next step?
