No Reports when armed for Zone 1 (Relay Support Activated)

Hey guys, I have been poking at this for a few days now and can’t seem to figure out what I am doing wrong.

I have a Vista 20p Panel with the ad2usb and a Vera3 with the virtual relay support enabled in the panel as outlined here: http://www.nutech.com/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=74&func=view&id=656&catid=4&limit=6&limitstart=0

All sensors are hardwired, there is no RF board installed, and no physical relay or expansion cards installed.

When disarmed, all zones report as they should, most specifically my entry doors on zone 1 (door sensor), and my motion sensor on zone 3.

When the panel is armed, zone 3 (motion sensor) reports and updates as it should however zone 1 will is not reporting anything when the panel is armed.

I have checked *79 and *80 and it seems everything is programmed as it should be. I am a bit fuzzy on if I setup the “cheat sheet” in mios correctly, however it seems to work fine for zone 3 (motion sensor), just not zone 1 (door sensor).

I have attached screenshots of the configuration, and I also recorded a video of how *79 and *80 are programmed on my panel. If there is a piece of information I am missing to help answer the question, please don’t hesitate to let me know!

Video:

I have attached a raw export of an entire event to this message, here is what I did.

Wait for “Ready to Arm”

Set to “ARM STAY”

Waited for countdown

Walked in front of motion sensor to trigger it (Zone 2) while system was armed.

Opened Entry Door (Zone 1) while system was armed

Waited a few seconds to disarm system during entry delay.

Disarmed alarm

Closed Entry Door (Zone 1)

Reopened Entry Door (Zone 1)

Here are the highlights of the attached file.

Eoppie,

If you turn on “debug mode” for the AD2USB plug-in, we’ll get some more detailed information on what’s going on with your system that may help diagnose the problem. To turn on debug mode, go into the “Advanced” tab of your AD2USB plug-in, and enter a “1” for the “DebugMode” variable

Then, reboot your Vera, and use your web browser to access the following “live logging” URL on your Vera:

http://VeraIpAddress/cgi-bin/cmh/log.sh?Device=LuaUPnP

Run through your tests again. (arm / disarm - open/close zones, etc.), and then post the logging activity here and I’ll see if I can figure out the problem.

Thanks for the response hugheaves.

I have run through the scenario with “DebugMode” enabled. The attached text file is the output.

FYI Sean M (mathewss) over on the nutech forums has duplicated the scenario, and had the same results with a 15P board.

http://www.nutech.com/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=74&func=view&catid=4&id=1748

I have confirmed this behavior on my Vista 15p. It does look as if the virtual relay is getting a message that I may be misinterpreting. I will bring home a actual relay board on Monday from my office connect it up and see what it does. Just to confirm a panel limitation vs bug in my code.

Re
Sean M

Let me know if there is any further information I can provide, and I appreciate the help!

Hi… Just wondering if you resolved this and could provide any information.

Thanks

Nope, no updates. Last I heard was that it could be reproduced…however no resolution was identified.

For what I wanted to do (turn lights on when disarming the system) I actually threw more technology at the problem.

I now use NFC paired with a Z-wave lock that triggers a scene to disarm the alarm, and turn on the lights (if it is dark via PLEG).

Thanks EOppie…

That is disappointing… I have the want to monitor security zones when the alarm is armed in order to trigger scenes, such as lights, cameras, etc.

No matter what I try, when the alarm is armed, I can not get it to capture a zones status.

Thanks…

just a note of caution, when your alarm is armed in any of the stay modes, all zones defined as “interior follower” within the alarm panel will not report and open/close as this will trigger your alarm. I really do not think is a bug or limitation, it is actually a design specification and your alarm panel is responding correctly to its armed state (away, stay, instant, etc)

Hi Mark,

You are correct… Those sensors are not what I want to monitor, it is entry/exit types (i.e. doors). These are hardwired and do not report a status change when the panel is armed in any mode.

Phil

@Philniedjaco,

I am having the same issue with mine. Did you find resolution?

Has anyone found a solution? I have set up a notification for my motion detector to alert me when it “detects motion whether is armed or disarmed” but I do not get any notifications when my alarm is set to “stay.”
