Um… is it troubling to anyone else that we haven’t seen a post from Micasaverde in a whole week, or CJ in over a month?
CEDIA’s been officially over for 4 days, so I had anticipated lots of Forum questions being addressed by them since then.
If you guys chime in and tell me I’m out-of-line for expecting too much, please say so (in a nice way…heh heh) and I’ll delete this thread immediately.
Personally, I think MCV should have 3-4 MORE regular posters staffing the Forum!
I wouldn’t worry about it too much, they’re likely heads down fixing the core issue/problems.
Personally, I’d prefer they focus on addressing any core performance/stability/usability issues that than posting here, since we’ll likely all be better in the long run if they fix/stabilize the Beta’s. I suspect they have a lot of data “mined” from our collective [findvera] logs for things like reboots (etc) to work out if they’re getting better or worse on the stability front.
What I am impressed by is the number of people willing to help each other out, to share experiences (both types and work to resolve them.
Whilst not a perfect model, it’s good to see people responding with concrete “here’s the solution” responses to posts for help, wherever they can of course…
eg. Recent entrants like Ap15e’s work to send ZWave commands over Luup, and to show folks how to set stuff between certain times in scenes and TedStriker’s Ping Sensor code (just to name a few newer contributors to the community)
It’s interesting when you compare it against some of the HA “competitor” forums and their traffic volume.
I’m sure we’ll hear from them soon, probably sooner than you think
Guessed ping’d me on IM about the forums. We’ve found a home that can consistently lock up the dongle (the problem where the light stops blinking). So after Cedia I flew out there and was on-site with Zensys zniffer’s analyzing the traffic patters to work on determining the cause. We’re now working with the Zen-sys and Aeon engineers to see the cause of the problem. Delays in responding to the forum usually mean we found a bug and told the developers to stay focused on fixing it and put off the forums. CJ and 2 other devs, who works in our dev center in Europe, were on vacation and are still really backed up on stuff.
Good answer, MCV, and do keep up the diligent work you do!
Chimpware, I’ve gone into “lurker” mode here at the Forums, primarily because I got self-conscious about being one of the Top Four posters, and not wanting to dilute others’ threads … esp. in the absence of MCV input. (Don’t want MCV to miss anything!!)

More soon, to be sure.[/quote]
I’d say you’ve racked up quite a number of posts in such a short time.
