Night dimming

I’m currently using a 2gig GoControl panel with a few light modules. I’ve been wanting to build a scene that will sense someone in the bathroom but if it’s dark it’lll automatically turn the light on for a couple minutes but at a dimmed level. I’ve been able to do this “except” set a dim level.

So my question is, will Vera allow me to build this and specify the dim percentage? I’m thinking at this point and because of my plans moving forward I’m better off purchasing a Vera now.

Can this be done?

Ran into the same issue. The 2Gig controller cannot implement rules to dim - only on and off. Vera is the way to go but then you have to decide who controls what. Is it 2Gig or is it Vera? They really don’t talk to each other (or not that I’ve been able to figure out).

I do believe it is possible for Vera to act as a secondary controller to 2Gig but it is not user-accessible. The 2Gig controller requires an installer code to access the functions that can enable secondary controllers (or so it seems from reading online documentation of the 2Gig controller). If anyone knows otherwise, I’d love to hear about it.

mdconnely, you would require the installer code for the 2gig. I bought mine from a 3rd party seller who sells the complete 2gig systems outright and will sell you the monitoring separate. This way I get all the installer codes and it’s all mine to access. Anyway, my plan was to purchase a Vera and use it for all my z-wave/home automation stuff and just let the 2gig system do what it does best…alarm functions. If you want it to do a few scenes with alarm triggers than just associate what zwave devices you need and leave the rest to Vera.
