I always regretted not wiring my home for CAT5e. It looks like there is a nice way to have networking in every room in my house via MoCa.

Amazon and eBay have lots of bits.
Apparently Verizon fios as a default uses moca to get Ethernet into your house over coax rather than run a cat5 to their access point. The newest retail TiVo comes with moca and actually can bridge your cat5 and coax networks. (Plus the TiVo units that rcn leases have moca.)
Both use it for ‘whole home DVR’ without needing cat5.
Im not sure if all the brands play nice together though.
DirecTV’s wholehome DVR service also uses MOCA (they actually call it DECA) for distribution over coax round your house, and they some nice adapters that bridge their older non supporting boxes that don’t support it to Ethernet and vice versa, they also make a wireless bridge too.
