NFC

Thanks to all the guys in this forum I just got my system all setup and wanted to share with you guys what I’m doing.

NFCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC!!

Get to my front door and wave my phone over the NFC sticker and it turns on my lights, unlock my door and turns off alarm with my phone. So happy I got it all setup and here’s how I did it.

What you need:

  1. NFC task Launcher

  2. Tasker

  3. Tasker (App Factory)

  4. I built a app in tasker to run a scene in Vera. With a http get.
    Device

Scene
https://fwd2.mios.com/john/tokyo/10266/data_request?id=lu_action&serviceId=urn:micasaverde-com:serviceId:HomeAutomationGateway1&action=RunScene&SceneNum=1

  1. Export that task out of tasker as a app.

  2. Create a tag that runs a app. (the one you just created.)

That’s it enjoy.

it it only for android world? Or is it possivle with keychan?

As the iPhone has no NFC :frowning:

Thank you
Matteo

You can also do this with my Android app AutHomation(HD) and NFC Task Launcher. No need for tasker. So the cost is free.

You’ll need a device that supports NFC. The apps that minh808 posted are android only.

you need to add NFC ability to your iPhone, with accessories like this for example: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/flomio/flojack-nfc-for-ipad-and-iphone

Matteo,

There is some cases that incorporated NFC in them but you will still need a app to run the scene. iCarte® - The Ultimate NFC/RFID Reader for iPhone®

One thing you can try is crate a QR barcode with the Http get address I posted then use a app on your Iphone to read it. Once it opens in a browser the scene will run. It is not secure so you can’t stick it to your front door but leave it in your car and scan it when you get home.

Here a free online generator http://www.qrdvark.com/qr-generator/

Good luck,

Minh

Hi Garrett, when using NFC Task Launcher. What do I have to choose in “action” to start a scene via authomation? How do I acheive this?

I wonder if there will ever be an update to Android that will remove the requirement (for some phones) to unlock the phone first before swiping the NFC tag. Or whether we know ahead of time that there is a hardware limitation etc. that will keep it from ever happening.

I don’t know. For now, you need to root your phone and to install a utility.

Okay I know this is an old thread but I am struggling how to figure out the NFC AutHomation(HD) relationship. When you create the device or scene intent and save it, where is that saving to? Or am I totally in left field?

just take a look at this link:
