new Vera3

Hi,

I’m new at domotica. I bougth a new Vera3, connected it to my network.
When i create a new acount at home.getvera.com, I got a notification that the firmware is outdated and I can upgrade to UI7.
I think the current firmware is UI5 (at least that is displayed in de title bar of the webpage from the vera3.
From what I can read on this forum, it is better to stay at UI5 (also the reason why I bougth a vera3 and not vera edge).
Do I need to contact getvera to prevent that my device will be upgraded to UI7 or is it possible to use the vera without an account on the vera website ?
I don’t want to access the device from the internet, the local LAN is more than sufficient.

Bart

I have exactly the same issue here. The software won’t let me add my controller unless i do the upgrade.
The reason I bought this device is because of the UI5.

Any advise here?

I have asked them to remove the “forced upgrade flag” from my Vera. Hope it works ::slight_smile:

The other problem you guys have, is if your on ui5 you need to not use getvera.com!

That website is for ui6 and ui7 only and ofcourse it will tell you your vera is outdated.

cp.mios.com is the correct website/server to use for ui5. Accounts are different on both don’t assume since your have a getvera.com account its the same as cp.mios.com

Thanks for the info integlikewhoa.
So if I understand you correctly…if we go to cp.mios.com we just can create an account and go on with UI5, right?
Problem solved.

I can confirm this… that’s how I did it with my Vera3 on UI5 that I bought a month ago. Works like a charm and doesn’t force you to upgrade to UI7.

Well I won’t say that will guarantee to fix all your problems, but if you try and use the ui6/ui7 server (when your on ui5) it’s gonna wanna make sure your VERA is on ui6 or ui7 and ask to upgrade you.

ui5 uses a different server which is a different website, different login and so on. When you use mobile devices the APPS alos need to be customized to which UI (server) your using. VERA has a ui7 app. Generic apps on the forums have a check box or other options to change in them depending on which server your using.

Again accounts are not the same on both sites. You can use the same user name and password if you want I believe, but they are different accounts.

I send a mail to vera and the removed the forced upgrade flag.
support was quick so that was no problem.
I have upgraded the firmware to the latest firmware on UI5 and everything is fine now.
I’m going to test it a little further and if all goes well, i implement this in my home.

Same here…support has removed the “force upgrade flag”. I have an accoun to the old server and everything is working fine on UI5.
Now i can start experimenting.
