NEw Vera Edge...static IP??

I recently upgraded to a new Vera Edge after my Vera Lite suddenly died.

Everything is going okay except for my control of the system using my iPhone and the HomeWave app. If I am in the house the app works fine. But as soon as I leave the house it says I have the wrong credentials (IP). I don’t recall having a static IP with my Vera Lite, but may have. And I certainly didn’t have this problem.

So my question is…do I need to set my Vera Edge up with a static IP? If so, does anyone know where I can find guidance on doing so?

No you don’t need a static IP. And if you did it would actually be for local use only. When you are away from your house it logins in via the vera servers and uses your user and password to connect to you VERA. Was your vera lite on ui5 or was it also on ui7? They use different servers and different accounts.

Next time this question would have been better off in the Homewave section. Do you have this problem from the webpage when your away from the house.

Home.Getvera.com

If your VeraLite was running UI5, you will have to create a new account on home.getvera.com and assign your new VeraEddge to that. As UI7 uses a different authentication method than Ui5.
