So we recently bought a new house with an old ADT security system in it. I’m looking for some advice. I don’t have a Mi Casa Verde yet but plan to soon and would like to wire them together.
The house has a Honeywell SAVS20P3 security board with a SA5882-3 wireless module in it. The previous owners turned the system off. Most of the sensors (save one) seem to still be wired. If I use this, I’d want to add more wireless equipment to it.
What are my best options? Will this stuff work with a MCV? Am I better off just scrapping the boards and using the existing sensors? It looks like the previous owner removed one wireless motion sensor and didn’t pass on any of the FOBs so there does not appear to be anything wireless that would even connect at the moment.
After searching google for sava20p3 it looks like the honeywell ademco vista 20p board which you can use the ad2usb module to connect it to your vera if you get one. you will need the installers code to get in to programming to add a keypad if you go that route. searching google you will find the common codes that ADT uses.
I also came across the same problem last year but the only solution for that was to check all the sensors installed in the house were properly working or not for doing this job I hired an contractor who corrected my problem in 3-4 days though at a standard charge but that was reasonable for all the effort and time the work consumed to be completed plus there is no need to change any device or any code. get more info

I was in the same boat with a questionable system. After doing a lot of research, I settled on the ad2usb device and about 30 minutes of installers time to come out and confirm how to connect the device, identify stations, and some other minor changes. I love it!. My wife and I are able to arm or disarm the alarm from our iphones, all of the house switches become sensors for your vera, and I am just getting started with other uses. I don’t believe you can disconnect the sensors from the panel and still use them with vera. There is an awesome ad2usb plugin app that sets everything up for you once you fill in all of the stations. I can’t even imagine how much time he put into that plugin, so I strongly urge you to take advantage of it.
