Netgear Arlo- Wireless Outdoor camera

Has anyone tried an Arlo yet? Wireless outdoor camera by Netgear. Doesn’t look like it records 24/7 but only when movement. Jury still seems to be out on batteries. Some great reviews, some questionable.

So… has anyone managed to connect this to a Vera system?

Im also really interested in getting this to work…

Sounds really interesting! Anyone tried the links proposed by keithj69 yet.

Im no expert, but ive tried but sadly only failed with the suggested solution :frowning:

Alright. So I think how Arlo works is that it creates a new wireless SSID named NETGEAR33 at least in my case. It’s protected by WPA2-psk. I think if we were able to get on the network we might be able to try this. Once connected we can try to remote into each camera with the mentioned links. The next step after that would be to change the wifi scheme so that it could see the controller. Probably changing the gateway on the cameras to the gateway on the vera unit would work.

I may try to crack the password but don’t have time to try now. I wish Arlo/Netgear would just let us get into the configuration to this system.

Any progress on this?

I’m looking into automatically set the Arlo’s mode based on the House mode. I’m assuming it can be done based on the way is done using SmartThings, please check link below:

Any suggestions? should it be a plugin or it can be done with a switch and some lua code

I’d love to see someone create a plugin for managing and viewing Arlo through Vera. Come on smart people. Get to work!

Any news on this?

Just discovered that Samsung Smartthings hub has support for Netgear Arlo cameras. This means that it should be able to integrate the Arlos with Vera as well.
Anyone can make a plugin that logs in to Arlo (which seem what Smartthings way is)?

Any news on this???

Arlo cameras are partnered with Wink … and there’s a Wink app for Vera … wonder if they’d talk?

Hello all

I have a vera lite and Wink hub. My Arlo camera are set in my Wink hub and I have the soft wink to my vera. Work great. The only think you see is a motion detector. I try to have the image.

Regard

so…you have to have your Arlo Cameras connected to the Arlo hub, Connected to the wink hub, connected to the vera…?

sigh…

This is quite confusing. So did your setup work? I don’t think Arlo Pro and Vera could work together. We have an arlo pro and it was very easy to set up… I hope this review can help as it helped me. I think it’s better to not complicate things, lol.

I want to buy for home security cameras, but I don’t know what should I choose. I have heard Amcrest is the best one, but I’m hesitating because it’s too expensive. It has good resolution, great night vision range of 32 feet, mic and speaker for 2-way talkback. But it is too expensive. Maybe someone can suggest me cameras on lower price?
In addition what do you think about vacuum cleaner? I want to buy robot vacuums and don’t know what better. I have read a lot of forums, posts and different sites likebest4yourhome.com and they said it must have everyone at home. But I’m worried about price and quality. What can you advice?
