My Yale touch screen keypad is very dim

I just bought this Yale touchscreen lock from the Amazon warehouse deal and the touch screen numeric pad is very dim. I put in fresh ultra alkaline batteries and did the reset but it is still very dark. It is very very hard to see the numbers but it is there, very faintly. Is this just a faulty unit? Thanks.

After further inspection, keypad does not light up at all. BUT it still works. I can faintly see the numbers. Its driving me nuts. I cant find the solution to this on the internet or the manual. Is it just the bulb that went out?

I don’t think it’s the battery. I have the Yale locks and the number pad is very bright. If the battery is low, there is a voice warning of that. I think you’re correct that bulb or other circuitry is the issue.

Thank you! I have contacted the seller and they are willing to give me a refund. I just wish they have another one to exchange so I dont have to redo everything over.

I think that 9 out of 10 times, my Amazon Warehouse Deal products have had issues. Good thing that Amazon is so great to work with though. They usually offer me a generous discount or I just ship it back and they send me a new one if they have it.

Dunno what I was thinking but I just read a new review on Amazon on this lock and this guy had the same problem and called Yale! DUH!

Yale is expediting me a new front unit for free and I’ll have to ship back the faulty unit on their dime. Why didn’t I think of this in the first place!? Their customer service is top notch. No run around and bs. I just gave them the unit’s serial number, explained the problem and bam! Easy as pie.
