motorized damper control using a contact switch and remote temp sensor?

I’m thinking of putting some motorized duct dampers to divert air between the upper/lower floors.

Couldn’t I use one of these motion sensor with temp in mount it in an upstairs room and setup a scene so if a temp reach X then damper opens then if it reach Y then damper close via a dry contact switch to trigger the 24v transformer?

You would probably be better off doing this…

Buy a normally CLOSED damper.
Buy a Z-wave thermostat
The thermostat will apply the 24v to the damper when it calls for heat (or AC), thus opening the damper.

Much more simple solution in my opinion.

Hope this helped. Good luck with your install!
