I’m not sure this is the correct sub-forum, but it seems more relevant here than elsewhere and from what I was able to search for this seemed related. I have a chicken coop outdoors that I would like to automate. There is a piece of wood that slides up and down to cover the opening to the coop. It is approximately 8"x12"x.75". It does not have a rope or cord attached but that could easily be done. In looking it seems like the ESI ABMHZ might work as a motor, but it is not clear to me the strength and how far it could move something. Does anyone have any suggestions for me in terms of motors that are z-wave enabled? I would prefer it to run on batteries but could also run an extension cord out there. Thanks.

This does look promising. Thank you. When searching for it I can only find it from Australia websites and it seems out of stock everywhere. Does anyone know a US option and/or guidelines how one might go about building it? Thank you.

It’s made in the USA, so may be something worth looking into.
