Motion sensor zwave

I’m looking into using motion sensors on the zwave system.
Unfortunately it seems the wireless options are not great and very expensive!
Has anyone used wired non zwave sensors and somehow used an I/o board to relay the signals to a micasa verde?
If so, what equipment have you used for sensors and board. Thanks!

I use the Honeywell CK-DT660STC (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000HARV6O) along with the Everspring SM103 (http://www.amazon.com/Everspring-Z-Wave-Door-Window-Sensor/dp/B006TFGW98) very reliably.

I like the SM103 because of its instant response. good for turning on lights and detecting motion for security.

Thanks

Hi Darth,

I have a veritable graveyard of zwave battery operated sensors of ALL kinds in my junk bin. The only two I have in my system are the SM103 as Tony G mentioned and the Everspring SP103 motion. All of these in my system have been modified with USB power. I still have to hop up and reset the SP103s about once a month.

What I ended up doing was buying a basic Honeywell Vista 20P alarm panel and porting its output to my Vera (see forum for details). It isn’t easy nor is it cheap but I can tell you I have approximately 25 door and window sensors and 5 motions all exposed to Vera for automation using plug in (see forum) and have had 0 problems for at least 6 months now…

Good luck!
