Nice find, I will order one at this price. I’m using a vera edge UI7.
Also note, these are currently on sale for $26 and there’s a monoprice site wide sale today/tomorrow (7/25 AND 7/26) for 15% off “SIZZLIN”
Anyone know if these work properly with Vera? They do not show here… http://getvera.com/compatibility/
If it’s any help, I can vouch for the Monoprice Garage Tilt Sensor. I have it working with UI5.
OK – I’ll take back my endorsement. Looking at the webpage, I see the sensor is Z-Wave Plus. The garage door sensor is just ZWave.
I bought a pair of these monoprice Z-Wave Plus Recessed Door/Window Sensorensors for use with my vera edge, they worked out to just about $20ea after the monoprice sale and arrived in about 3-4 days with their free shipping.
They arrived today, I popped one out of the box, stuck in a battery and it paired right up with my vera edge. I then moved to a different location in the house and tested it out, it works great.
Has anyone noticed excessive battery usage with these? Mine paired like a champ, but after 2 weeks, my battery percentage is down to 80%.
I have four of these, installed 1.5 weeks ago. Vera often says “Can’t detect device,” even when the WakeUpRating is 5.00 and the LastWakeUp is less than 1800 seconds ago. I placed a test unit about 6" away from the controller. It works better than the others but still sometimes says “Can’t detect device.” I added them to the network using Generic Z-wave device. Also the battery level doesn’t show. How does the previous poster know the battery level? Any ideas are appreciated…
I purchased a couple of these door sensors and for the most part they work fine except for the annoying “Can’t detect device” alert which will pop up for both sensors several times a day. I have changed the default wake up interval to “1800” seconds without any luck.
As far as getting the battery level to show up, you will need to add a new Service/Variable/Value for each sensor as below:
Service: urn:micasaverde-com:serviceId:HaDevice1
Variable: BatteryLevel
Value: 100
Service: urn:micasaverde-com:serviceId:HaDevice1
Variable: BatteryDate
Value: (Any date is fine ex: 1452035170)
