Modules don't see neighbors, only Vera

Although everything is functional in my network, I am puzzled that there is no mesh despite all machinations and contortions I can think of. At present, each module can see Vera, and Vera can see each module, but that is the extent of it. This has been the case since I first set this Vera system up. There was one instance shortly after installing a new humidity/temp module that a nice collection of neighbors appeared for each module, but after the next heal they were gone again and each module only shows Vera, “1”, as a neighbor. Any ideas?

I’ve had a ticket in twice, but they were not successful in resolving this issue, although they apparently tried.

If you look at the “EDGE NODE PROFILE” part, you can see a couple devices have hops in their routing, those devices at least should show their neighbors. More than likely this is a FW bug and not related to anything other than a displaying neighbors issue.
Check again in a few days and see if they show up again.

What Mios build are you running?

I had this problem awhile back and couldn’t fix it no matter what I did. Everything still worked but all my devices had only 1 neighbor like you are talking about.

I finally added a new device and then all of a sudden all my devices had neighbors again. I removed the new device later because I didn’t need it.
As @Jod says, maybe a firmware bug ?

Adding a new module did once bring neighbor lists back but then they disappeared again. Vera has been healing every night with no return of neighbors. I’ll have to try excluding and including a module to see what happens.

Only MCV could give you an official answer. IMHO, edge nodes connect internal nodes to external nodes.

Example below from your heal report:

Node 1 (Vera) is trying to communicate with node 2 (route: 1->0.0.0.0->2) in the frist of several tests Vera can communiacte directly and there is no need for an edge node and reports (num hops: 0)

The 2nd test Vera (1) uses node #4 (route: 1->4.0.0.0->2) to communicate with #2 (num hops: 1)
Notice how the latency was reduced “Latency avg: 95 max” by using a hop vs going direct.

What route actually gets used in practice? I have no idea; but it’s all worked out in MCV’s algorithm.

All my devices have started showing neighbour as “1” (presumably Vera). I see that others have experienced this problem also.

System is more or less working except for one 3-in-1 sensor that fails to poll much of the time with the result that the temperature does not update.

Suggestion is that it is a FW problem (I’m on 1.5.408).

Since it’s been a while since there was any contribution to this thread I thought I’d check for progress before issuing a ticket.
