I have am running a LUUP scene that triggers a thermometer when a sensor is tripped/untripped. The script works with a z-wave sensor, but I am trying to add in another wireless sensor (DSC Tri-Zone Wireless Sensor WS4965) that does not use z-wave and it is not triggering the thermometer.
I can’t find anything in the DSC manuals to resolve the issue, does anybody have any advice?
I have 3 or 4 DSC tri-Zone wireless sensors in my alarm setup. I actually use them on our garage doors and they work flawlessly. The garage door trips the tilt sensor when it’s up and not tripped when its down. I have incorporated them into the garage door plug in and have scenes that will close or open all three doors and automatically close the doors each night at 9:30. I also have a scene that runs the “I’m Home” scene, disarming the alarm, unlocking the door, lights on and thermostat adjusted only if the door is opened and the alarm is armed. They are great sensors.
I am curious to know what you plan to use the tilt sensor and the thermometer together for? I assume you are using the tri-zone sensor as part of your DSC alarm panel plugin?
Ryanoc75 - This is the exact same setup I am going after. What garage door plugin did you go with?
Hey ryanjohnson00
Sorry for ridiculously delayed reply - I didn't know I was being asked a direct question. I use the Garage Door plug in from the app store v 1.20. It works really well actually except for the odd occasion where the Lock/Unlock buttons get out of sync with the door sensor. Often it will correct itself but usually just triggering the door again fixes it I pieced together a bit of luup code and created a scene that will keep triggering the door until all 3 sensors are showing closed on each door and if it fails after 10 attempts it sends a notification to check the doors. That has come in handy when someone left something in the way of the door sensor preventing a close. If your interested I can send you the code you would put in the luup tab of the scene.
