Looking for Help setting up security system

Ok Let assume I am a total moron…

I have my vera2 setup at my cabin thermostat, door lock all working great. I want to be able to contol my alarm panel. I have read the links etc here and I’m just plain confused. My main goal is to arm and disarm. Reporting would be great but not extremely important. Could I pay anyone, consultant company etc to set this up for me…thanks

Folks here will probably help out, esp if you’re ok with basic wiring… but first they’ll need the make/model of your existing alarm system.

Take a look at http://code.mios.com/ there are plugins for DSC, ELK, GE Caddx, Honeywell Ademco, Paradox, Visonic PowerMax. DSC and the Paradox seem to have the best integration.

@tad, while I’m sure people here will help out when I was configuring my DSC alarm system I found a lot of good information at http://www.diyalarmforum.com/. Programming my DSC was somewhat ugly but they had some good instructions.
