Something to try so that we can see what version you maybe on is go to co.mios.com/firmware (on the same LAN as your Vera) and select the prompt to set up a vera3. At the end it should tell you the version.
P.S. FYI. With UI6, you need to establish a new account to align with the new authentication protocols introduced. It can be the same as your old user name currently utilised via cp.mios.com!
thank you for your fast feedback, but i think there is a problem with the software image or the hardware.
.) i tried to make a factory reset by pressing the reset button for more than ten secounds
.) then i saw the wlan from vera (which i had switch off before) and could login with the password from the back of the vera3 unit
.) at 192.168.81.1 i tried to connect and had to use login and pw which i didn?t know because i thought that everything was resetted…
.) but because of your feedback i tried my old pw and it worked - i was logged in
.) then i tried to change the lan setup as it worked before
.) …but it didn?t work…
.) i pressed the reset button once again…
.) i tried to login via wlan, wlan not stable, couldn?t reach the gui…
.) i will drink a beer now!
result:
.) i can?t change the ip adress of vera3, I tried dhcp and fixed ip…it?s still the 192.168.81.1…very strange…
.) very funny, it looks like the mac adress of the vera changes the value sometimes…last value CC vs CD…yeahhhhhh
setup:
vera3 directly connected to my notebook by lan cable, no other cables connected
.) i was not able to access the gui via wan port after the factory reset, but it worked via a lan port
.) i changed the settings to fixed ip and no firewall and tried to save it, reboot etc.
.) still connected to the lan port i only had access to the gui at 192.168.81.1. but not at 192.168.1.3 (of course i changed the ip of the conntected laptop for the test)
.) it didn?t show me the firmware version…
.) i tried “net/wifi” - auto detect devices on my home network…and after waiting a long time …i got a result
lessons learned:
.) MAC adress on LAN port ="= MAC adress on WAN port
.) then i connected my laptop to the wan port, changed the ip of the laptop and…unbelievable…it work, i was able to connect to the gui at 192.168.1.3
.) i connected vera to my lan
.) i still have UI5
.) “You are running the latest version: 1.5.622”…now the unit is showing it to me
.) i downloaded the last backup file and did a restore, worked
P.S.: during my test i also got sometimes a funny info at the screen b[sub][/sub]ecause i tried to press the red save button "this feature is not enabled, you have to upgrade to the “professional home automation system”…i think i will do it and sell the vera 3
P.S.S: I am no top expert tech guy, but i can normally read and can handle technical equipment…but in this case it was hard
Well done and good to hear you have resolved the issue.
As to the remarks above. Ignore it, it is an comment in the firmware that has existed for a number years and yet to be removed. It is rarely seen because it is only activate on a certain sequence of events, trying to save whilst it is committing changes or something like that. Trying to commit changes during the restart…
What you described sound to me it was still trying to reset whilst you were trying to perform your actions and therefore there was no resources available to do both . As you left it for a number of hours, it completed the previous reset and enabled you to do this.
